The challenge

A mature marketplace has to serve two audiences at once: buyers need fast discovery and filtering, while sellers need practical tools and reliable connections to payment, merchant, and social channels.

Engineering approach

  1. Used Django REST Framework for the product API and React for interactive marketplace and seller workflows.
  2. Integrated Algolia to support product search and filtering.
  3. Connected Stripe and PayPal payment flows alongside Google Merchant and social-platform APIs.
  4. Delivered a progressive web app using React Router, Redux, Material UI, and Leaflet.
  5. Used an operational stack that included Sentry, AWS services, Celery, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Nginx.
