A client portal for a logistics company gave customers a faster way to submit customs documents and follow freight through the shipment lifecycle.

The challenge
The public-facing workflow had to stay simple while the backend exchanged files with a government customs system and connected reporting, email, document storage, and shipment data.

Engineering approach
- Built the portal with Django, Django REST Framework, Bootstrap, and HTMX.
- Handled government customs integration through XML file transfers.
- Integrated Office 365 APIs for email and reporting workflows.
- Used a recorded supporting stack that included SFTP, AWS S3, Celery, Redis, PostgreSQL, Caddy, and Sentry.
